Martie Simmons, Associate Editor, is a freelance writer and citizen of the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin. She has a Bachelors of Business Administration, an HR Professional license, and is an Army Veteran. She worked as a contributor to Edge of Morning: Native Voices Speak for Bears Ears, had Op-Eds in Indian Country Today, and had media appearances on The Stream.
Currently, Martie Simmons lives with her two children in Arizona and attends the University of Arizona College of Law in her second year (2L).
Martie Simmons was inspired to go to law school by the need to keep Native children connected to their family, community, and culture.
